Chung Nguyen’s path to filmmaking began at an unlikely place: working at Blockbuster Video during his high school years. This unconventional film education laid the groundwork for Chung’s editing career, where he crafted campaigns for powerhouses like IBM and Vanity Fair, and shaped TV shows for NBC, Paramount, and Disney.
Chung’s directorial work has aired internationally and featured in prestigious online publications like Psyche Magazine and Short of the Week. His gift for balancing commercial and independent work is evident in projects like “Gamers,” a commercial for IBM, and “Dream World,” a poignant short documentary exploring the depths of memory and meaning.
As a first-generation Asian American, Chung’s work blends elements of Asian and American thought and film styles. This synthesis drives his search for the profound and poetic in the human experience and fuels his passion for creating documentaries that resonate deeply with audiences worldwide.
